My practice largely explores abstract narrative through the use of print and speculative design. I have a strong interest in the self and aim to communicate mindfulness by provoking certain thoughts, sensations and self-enquiry. By navigating the mind to explore these speculative ideas, I intend to spark a sense of curiosity and cultivate a deeper connection between us as humans. Through it's visual cues, the body of work of Mauna imitates the sound of silence and stillness that the retreat exists in. My objective is to exhibit, through print and moving image, a mixed sense of equanimity and otherness in order to evoke a desire to study the self.
