I’m a publication designer that focuses on exploring and seeking ways to explore the personalities and stories of the communities and the people that make up these communities around me. I do my best to seek these stories through personal interaction, participatory events, and street/candid photography. Afterwards, I would collate and present these stories and articles on lo-fi print media. The reason for choosing cheap, light, printing processes and materials is to ensure that these publications are produced cheaply and easily accessible to the people in the western suburbs and beyond. I seek to produce media that is easy to consume and aesthetically light, placing focus on the story through well composed typography and meaningful imagery. I believe it’s important to share and provide a face and a voice for the unique and colourful stories of the community I grew up in because the west is often an underestimated and underrepresented community.
