I am a graphic designer and illustrator focussing on constructing visual displays. I use visual communication as an analytical tool for exploring design thinking. My practice consist of designing of product packaging, book illustrations, creating celebration cards and company logos. My Gradshow project is a publication of the things I did for the first time in my life in Melbourne. I chose this work because I want to share my experiences with other people. The design experience explored by my project is the use of laser cut and Adobe Illustrator. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the images and then used laser cut to produce the end product. I encountered a lot of problems when I initially sent my files to laser cut. The machine has problem scanning the drawings but after a few attempts I managed to finally produce the output. I have always been drawn to the imaginative aspect of story telling in Hari and Deepti’s works of paper cut shadowbox. Their work gave inspirations to my design. They used paper and lights behind their works but I used wood instead of papers and I did not use lights.
