I am a graphic designer, illustrator and maker who goes under the name Jolly Iron Design to showcase my works and love for crafting. As a person I am someone who is cheerful and strong willed, hence the name Jolly Iron. As a designer I showcase these traits by my colour choices and my illustrations. I would say that my practice is a way for me to share my story to the world visually. I love to make things by hand, I love crafting and doing something tactile rather than just sitting on my laptop. I use craft and design as a way of exploring things that interest or inspire me. My practice consists of mostly illustration, print design and crafty stuff that I explore from time to time. For this grad show, I called my project the ‘Jolly Town’. This project is a combination of illustration, print design and craft. For me a happy place is not just a location. It can be found in a person, an animal, music or even as simple as happy memories. Through this project I’m showing my happy ‘place’ in hope that I can share happiness through these things.
