My practice lies mostly in the realm of experience design, concerned with how this mode of design can increase the quality of the user's experience. I’m interested in creating relationships with users through design and how the use of different materials or technologies can affect this relationship. My latest work Dr Mod explores the quest to achieve an acceptable standard of beauty through plastic surgery. This work is largely personal, as I focus on the fragility of identity when many family members decide to undergo cosmetic surgery. Through a fictional Plastic Surgery Clinic, I try to stimulate these ideas in an interactive environment for the user to explore. By using a variety of new and old technologies, as well as repurposed materials, I like to create a sensory experience through design, inviting the user to insert themselves into a new, unconventional environment.
