My practice explores the idea of creative problem solving and the relationship we share between product design and communicating the structure to a wider audience. My aim is to combine the two disciplines and develop my own design aesthetic by creating with honesty, transparency and longevity. Exploring more deeply, Design allows me to transform images in my mind into something that’s tangible. I'm interested in the ability to convert imagination into reality. The hunger of expressing my creativity wasn't fed through Science, rather the aspect of problem-solving. For my Grad Show piece, I have created a temporary experience that embodies my personality as a designer and my time at RMIT University and being able to translate my ideas and passion into a product of design. Through the process of building a series of handmade beach chairs, my aim was to produce a tangible object that is a result of a functional and well-thought design that brings forward a structure that creates a talking point amongst the environment that it sits in.
