As a graphic designer, I express myself through my designs by blending contemporary aesthetics with bold, vibrant graphics. My practice focuses on illustration, branding and animation in order to explore the diverse methods of communicating awareness in an exciting way. The Wingdings playing card was developed to honor the forgotten predecessor of emoji; dingbat fonts. The pictorial characteristic of Wingdings makes it feasible to create interesting patterns and ornaments which is best displayed in the form of playing cards. This project relies heavily on experimentation and I believe design is a process of discovery through thinking as well as making. I’ve always thought of these work processes as a form of travel. Despite stepping into the real design industry, I will always find myself as a student; to stay curious and keep on learning.
